BACA DOA SELAMAT FOR PSR 2011 - MASJID PULAIE - THURSDAY, 29TH SEPTEMBER 2011

Please be informed that the Doa Selamat forthe Year Six Students will be held at Masjid Pulaie on Thursday, 29th September 2011 at 8 a.m.

The Baca Doa Selamat is done each year to give blessing to the students who are doing PSR of Stella's School.

Muslim students/ Parents should wear the correct attire to perform prayers and Non Muslim students should be covered up (meaning long trousers/ shirt/ baju kurong etc). All Muslim parents are invited to perform this prayer.

Non Muslim students are encouraged to attend and will only sit at the back during the prayer.

Students are allowed to bring bottles of mineral water (used for Baca Yassin). Please make sure these bottles are CLEARLY labeled with your child's name.

After the prayers there will be light refreshments and parents are allowed to bring along food to share for this important occasion.

The morning classes will then need to be taken back to school (by parents) as lessons will start at 10 am.

Afternoon students will needed to go home and return to school in the afternoon.

SAFETY AROUND THE SCHOOL COMPOUND

We are continually monitoring ways to improve the safety for students around the school and would like to seek the parents cooperation on the following:-

• If you have collected a child from the KG section and have to wait for a Primary sibling- PLEASE supervise properly the kindergarten children and NOT allow them to run all around the place. On numerous occasions, staff find kindergarten students running all over the place including running through the car park, ALONE. This is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS.

• (Afternoon students) - Some afternoon students arrive at school before 11:15 am whilst the morning session is still functioning and the students run all around the compound, disturbing classes that are in session.

• Let me remind Afternoon parents that there is NO SUPERVISION of any child that arrives to school BEFORE 12 noon and that the school will not be held responsible for any accidents to any students that arrives before the stated time.

• Parents should not request any PRIMARY students to go and collect a sibling from the kindergarten building.

• Parents should give way and be patient whilst driving around the school compound. Parents are required to be EXTRA VIGILANT and watch out the students/ teachers/ Parents who might be crossing the road.

• STUDENTS should always seat at the back seat of the car.

Dear Primary Parents,

HARI RAYA/ TEACHER'S DAY CELEBRATION

Hari Raya/ Teacher's Day celebration for Primary students of Stella's School will be held on Thursday, 22nd September 2011 during break time. Parents are welcome to bring along a 'small amount of food' to share amongst the class. Please do not bring junk food ( such as sweets, fizzy drinks and jellies). The students will be dismissed at 11.30 am (morning class) and 4.45 pm afternoon class.

Saturday, 24th September 2011 has been declared a special holiday for ALL schools in Brunei Darussalam to allow teachers to attend the special celebrations at the International Convention Centre (ICC).

Clubs in Group A will still be held on Friday, 23rd September 2011.

ISBC BOOKS

It is Stella's School relentless mission to encourage our students to read and due to popular demand, we are running the ISBC book again. There is a great selection for all ages, reasonably priced and the quality of the books are good. In addition to this, the school receives a percentage of free books for each of our libraries (KG and Primary) so our students benefit again.

Please be reminded that the dateline for the Book Club order is Saturday, 8th October 2011 as we need to immediately get off the orders in time for the books to arrive before the holidays.

If you wish to order, and do not have a catalog please refer to Agnes or Teacher Iwa (Primary Library).

SAFETY

The School would like to remind ALL parents that it is paramount that ALL Parents/Guardians /Drivers / Maids be responsible and act with consideration and patience whilst driving / entering the school premises .

The School would like to point out that several parents/grandparents/ drivers / maids (after collecting their child from the kg building ) allow the kg student to run freely around the large premises WITHOUT supervision .On numerous occasions , staff have to round up these children and 'pass them back ' to the guardian ! Allowing the children to run freely without supervision, is extremely dangerous and TOTAL neglect by the guardian .

Parents /guardians/ Drivers are NOT allowed to park along the slip road as this jams up the system and prevents the staff from being able to see other parents coming .

The students will be learning about safety and road safety this term and we hope the parents will support us in this mission by reminding your child(ren) of the dangers.

Dear Parents,

RE: PSR EXAMINATION (MIB) Thursday, 15th September 2011

Please take note that the MIB/ PSR Examination will be held throughout Brunei Darussalam on Thursday, 15th September 2011 in the morning. Attendance is COMPULSORY as this is a Government Examination. All students MUST be at school by 7.15 am (so that we can go through drilling prior to the exam).

Afternoon students MUST be at school 7.15 am and will be allowed to go home at 10 am. There will still be afternoon classes for the afternoon session.

Students should revise their MIB Year 6 books.

Please be informed that Clubs will be available on 16th, 23rd and 30th September and Group B will be on 7th, 14th and 21st October from 2pm to 4pm at Stella's School.

Please Note

1. All clubs are open to boys and girls (Yr. 1 to Yr.5)
2. Please don't leave your child at school until your club leader has arrived and it is advisable to promptly collect your child once the club has finished.
